Where is your wedding?
IslandWood on Bainbridge Island, WA. We will be hosting all our wedding events Friday - Sunday onsite at IslandWood.
What is the timeline of events for the weekend?
You can read an overview of the itinerary at the "Weekend Itinerary" tab. You will be provided a detailed Wedding Welcome packet when you check-in at IslandWood, including a detailed itinerary, FAQs, and everything you need to know for the weekend ahead.
How should I plan my transportation for the weekend?
The good news is that once you get to IslandWood, you're all set! All events will be hosted there and there will be plenty to do for the whole weekend.
Getting to IslandWood depends on where you're coming from, but if you're coming from out of town, the easiest airport to fly into is Seatac International Airport. From there, it's just a quick 20-25 drive to Seattle. There are endless Lyfts, Ubers, and car rentals available from the airport. We ask that all guests try their best to arrive in Seattle no later than noon on Friday to allow for unexpected delays and continued transportation to the venue.
Once you get to Seattle, you hopefully will have a little time to explore! The ferry terminal is at Colman Dock at the Seattle Waterfront at Pier 52. This is just blocks away Pike Place Market and other fun attractions. The ferry to Bainbridge takes around ~45 minutes. There are multiple trips per day but it's essential you plan ahead. The ferries get filled up - especially on a Friday afternoon.
Once you get to Bainbridge Island, the venue is only a quick 10 minute ride. There are a couple ride share options on Bainbridge but it's not like the city - you may have to call a taxi service or plan to carpool with other guests if you don't have an available car.
You can learn more and book your transit by visiting the "Flights, Ferries & Transportation" tab.
When should we expect to travel to Seattle?
The wedding party & immediate family will be joining us on Thursday, July 10th. The rest of our guests will be joining us on Friday, July 11th. That being said, Seattle in July is absolutely stunning! We encourage you to make a trip of it and come early - or stay a few extra days after our wedding weekend.
That's all up to you but we ask that if you're coming from out of town, you book a flight that lands in Seattle no later than 12 PM. That will give you plenty of time to transit into the city (~20 minutes), make it to the downtown waterfront ferry terminal, and make the quick ferry trip over to Bainbridge Island. The ferry trip to Bainbridge is quick and you board on a first come, first serve basis. Tickets can be purchased up to 90 days in advance. This means you can get a ticket on April 13th if you plan to ferry over on Friday, July 11th. You can take a car onto the ferry but that will cost slightly more. More details are provided on the "Flights, Ferries & Transportation" tab.
What should I expect to spend?
We anticipate the average individual cost will land between $500 - 1,000 depending on where you're coming from. Please see "Anticipated Cost" for more details. We break down the expected costs for the weekend.
What is the dress code for the weekend?
The Friday Welcome Dinner dress code is "nice but don't go ham." You're free to change into whatever is most comfortable for the s'mores night after dinner.
On Saturday, there will be breakfast and lunch served - no specific dress code requested! There will also be activities you can sign up for in the mid-morning. You'll need to dress according to whatever activity you sign up for.
For the wedding ceremony and reception, dress to the nines! Please wear appropriate summertime formalwear such as dresses and suit + tie.
When and how should I plan to RSVP?
Please RSVP and book your IslandWood room no later than March 31, 2025 on the "RSVP" tab of this website.
We understand that may feel far in advance, but there are a lot of decisions we need to make for a weekend-long wedding of this size. We appreciate you RSVPing promptly and helping us ensure this is a well-planned & beautiful celebration!
What is the expected weather in Seattle during this time?
The average daily temperature on Bainbridge Island in July ranges from 74°F to 78°F.
Am I allowed to bring a plus one?
We have accounted for the expected +1's for the weekend already. This includes spouses, kids, and people in serious long-term relationships. If you're unsure if your desired +1 is invited, please reach out directly to Tom or Alita to ask. We appreciate your flexibility in our answer. While we'd love to accommodate everyone possible, our goal is to give the best experience possible to our closest friends and family.
Is this wedding kid-friendly?
Yes! If you have a kid, we've accounted for them in the expected guest count. If you want to attend our wedding kid-free, we totally understand and welcome it! Please RSVP the exact head count you expect to attend.
Where should we send our wedding gift?
Please don't buy any physical gifts. While we deeply appreciate the sentiment, we truly do not need any more stuff. Your presence at our wedding is more than gift enough; we know every guest will take on some financial burden in order to join us. We deeply appreciate it. If you'd like to contribute to our "Honeymoon Fund" in lieu of a physical wedding gift, you can find more details at the "Registry" tab of this website.
